INTERMITTENT BOUNCE - BACK OF THE DRIVER'S
WINDOW DURING ONE TOUCH UP OPERATION

FORD:
2005-2006 Five Hundred, Freestyle

MERCURY:
2005-2006 Montego

ISSUE
Some 2005-2006 Freestyle, Five Hundred and Montego vehicles built before 3/22/2006 may exhibit intermittent bounce-back of the driver's window during "one touch" up operation without an obstruction in the glass path. This may be more prevalent in low ambient temperatures.

ACTION
Refer to the following Service Procedure for repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Check glass run and molding for contamination or tight spots and confirm the glass is seated squarely in its clamps and properly tightened. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-11.

2. Repair any items above as required.

3. Replace window regulator motor with a motor containing revised software. Refer to WSM Section 501-11, Door Window Regulator Motor Removal and Installation.

4. Perform Door Window Motor Initialization following instructions in WSM, Section 501-11, under General Procedures.
