ISSUE
Some 2005-2007 Five Hundred and Montego vehicles may have a roof ditch molding that fits loosely causing an appearance or noise concern. Properly attached moldings will have some movement, but will remain securely attached to the roof retaining hooks.

ACTION
Remove roof ditch molding and adjust roof ditch molding retaining hooks. Refer to the following Service Procedure.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the roof ditch molding by pushing down on the outboard half of the molding while pulling up on the inboard half (Figure 1).

2. Inspect the roof ditch hooks (five (5) per side) for proper orientation (Figure 2).

3. Adjust the hooks (if necessary) using standard hand tools so the hooks are positioned at a right angle (Figure 3).

4. Reattach the moldings by properly aligning the ends at the front and rear of the roof and snapping them back in place over each roof ditch hook.

NOTE
ENSURE THAT WINDSHIELD MOLDING SITS OVER THE ROOF DITCH (FIGURE 4)
