Antenna - Sedan

The antenna system consists of:

- Antenna grid (part of the rear window glass)
- Antenna module
- 2-piece antenna cable

The antenna receives AM and FM radio waves. The waves are sent to the ACM through the antenna cable.

The antenna uses a 2-piece coaxial cable to connect the ACM to the antenna base. The front antenna lead-in cable is connected to the ACM and has an in-line connector at the RH cowl side. The rear antenna cable is part of the wiring harness and cannot be replaced separate from the harness.

The antenna is located in the inside of the rear window glass and can be repaired, but not replaced separately from the glass. Refer to Windows.

The satellite antenna (if equipped) consists of a roof-mounted antenna capable of receiving digital satellite audio signals. A one-piece antenna cable connects the satellite antenna to the Satellite Digital Audio Receiver System (SDARS) module.

Antenna - Wagon

The antenna system consists of:

- Antenna mast
- Antenna base and cable
- Antenna lead-in cable

The antenna uses a 2-piece coaxial cable to connect the ACM to the antenna base. The front antenna lead-in cable is connected to the ACM and has an in-line connector at the RH cowl side. The rear antenna cable is part of the wiring harness and cannot be replaced separate from the harness.

If the vehicle is equipped with satellite audio, a combination AM/FM/satellite radio antenna is used. It is mounted on the roof.

Speakers

All vehicles are equipped with 4 door-mounted speakers. The optional subwoofer is mounted either on the parcel shelf (Sedan) or in the right rear quarter panel (Wagon).

Navigation System

The navigation system is integral to the ACM. The navigation ACM controls the operation of the navigation system and the audio system. The system uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) antenna, a vehicle speed input, and other sensor information to accurately establish the vehicle position. The navigation ACM provides the visual and audible instructions of the maneuvers required to arrive at the pre-entered destination. An audible switch feedback is provided to confirm if an ACM button or touch screen button is pressed.

The voice recognition system allows the user to interface with the system without using the touch screen. A microphone located in the auto-dimming interior mirror provides a direct input to the ACM.

Satellite Audio

The satellite audio system is comprised of the following:

- SDARS module, located behind the RH quarter trim panel (Wagon) or in the LH side of the luggage compartment (Sedan)
- Satellite radio antenna cable
- Satellite radio antenna

DVD Entertainment System

The DVD entertainment system includes the following:

- Rear Entertainment Module (RETM)
- A/V ports for connecting a gaming system
- 2 wireless headphones
- A wireless remote control

SYNC System

The SYNC system is comprised of the following:

- Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM), located in the center console
- SYNC-specific steering wheel controls
- Microphone, located in the auto-dimming interior mirror
- Universal Serial Bus (USB) port, located in the center console
- Audio input jack, located in the center console

The SYNC system is a hands-free communications and entertainment system that allows the following interactions:

- Send and receive phone calls via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Send and receive text messages via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Connect media devices (such as an iPod(R) or USB flash device) in order to play audio files
- Play audio files via a Bluetooth-enabled audio device

Not all features will be available with every phone.

For audio system operation, including the SYNC system, refer to the Owner's Literature.
