Bumper - Rear

Removal and Installation

1. Remove the rear bumper cover. For additional information, refer to Bumper Cover - Rear, Taurus, Sable Removal and Replacement or Bumper Cover - Rear, Taurus X Removal and Replacement.

2. NOTE: Anytime the rear bumper nuts are removed, it is necessary to re-tighten the rear bumper double-ended studs.

Remove the 4 rear bumper nuts.

- To install, tighten the rear bumper nuts to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

- To install, tighten the rear bumper double-ended studs to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

3. Remove the rear bumper.

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Inspect the rear bumper double-ended studs for damage. If necessary, install new rear bumper double-ended studs.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
