Removal and Installation

Vehicles with a power liftgate

1. Remove the power liftgate rod retaining nut cover.





2. Remove the power liftgate rod retaining nut.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).





3. Remove the power liftgate rod from the liftgate.

All vehicles

4. Remove the liftgate upper trim panel.
- Pull the liftgate upper trim panel toward the middle of the liftgate window glass to release the retaining clips.

5. Remove the 4 liftgate trim screws.





6. Remove the liftgate lower trim panel.
- Pull outward on the liftgate lower trim panel outward to release the retaining clips.

7. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the liftgate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the liftgate and attach them to the liftgate trim panel before installing.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
