Seat Backrest - Rear, 40 Percent




Seat Backrest - Rear, 40 Percent, Taurus, Sable

Disassembly and Assembly









1. Remove the rear seat cushion. For additional information, refer to Seat Cushion - Rear, Taurus, Sable Seat Cushion - Rear.

2. Remove the 40 percent rear seat backrest. For additional information, refer to Seat Backrest - Rear, Taurus, Sable Seat Backrest - Rear.

3. Push in on the headrest adjust button and remove the headrest.

4. Release the J-clip at the bottom of the backrest trim cover and release the trim cover hook-and-loop strips at the back.

5. Remove the pivot grommet.

6. NOTICE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strip. The hook-and-loop strip may be torn from the seat backrest foam.

Release the hook-and-loop strips, invert the trim cover and remove the 3 rows of hog rings.

- Invert the trim cover to the headrest guide sleeves.

7. Pull the latch release strap through the trim cover.

8. Lift the foam pad, pinch the headrest guide sleeves together and remove them.

9. Remove the trim cover.

10. Remove the foam pad.

11. Remove the cable and housing from the latch.

12. Remove the bolts and latch.
- To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

13. Separate the release strap and cable end from the backrest bracket and remove the latch release assembly.

14. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
