Window Glass - Rear Door

Removal and Installation

All vehicles

1. Remove the rear door trim panel.

2. Remove the access hole plug.

3. NOTE: If the door window regulator is inoperative, remove it. For additional information, refer to Window Regulator Motor Window Regulator Motor.

Lower the window until the glass clamp bolt is accessible through the access hole plug, then loosen the glass clamp bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).





4. Tape the window in position, then lower the window regulator downward until it reaches the stops at the bottom of the regulator tracks.

Taurus X only

5. Lower the window glass into the door.

6. Remove the top run.





7. Remove the rear fixed window glass.
- Remove the bolt and the screw.





Taurus, Sable

8. Lower the window glass into the door.

9. Remove the scrivet from the rear door glass top run.





10. Remove the bolt from the rear door glass top run.





11. Remove the top run and bracket.





All vehicles

12. Remove the rear window glass.

13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
