ISSUE
Some 2010 Fusion, Milan and MKZ vehicles built on or before 12/15/2009 may exhibit external vertical scratches on the door window glass at the driver and/or passenger front doors only. This may be caused by the outer beltline moulding material tolerances being too close to the glass assembly.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Identify front door window glass with vertical scratch concern.
1. Clean the suspect glass with Motorcraft(R) Ultra-Clear Spray Glass Cleaner, or equivalent.
a. If no scratches can be seen or felt with a fingernail, return the vehicle to the owner and refer them to the Owner Guide information on recommended cleaning maintenance.
b. If scratches remain visible or can be felt with a fingernail, replace the affected front door window glass and outer beltline moulding. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Sections 501-08 and 501-11.
