This article supersedes TSB 10-12-8 and 09-18-11 to update the production fix date and Action step.
ISSUE
Some 2010 Fusion, Milan and MKZ vehicles built on or before 03/19/2010, equipped with Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC) or Electronic Manual Temperature Control (EMTC) may exhibit a low or loss of air flow from the panel vents during extended drives. Vehicles equipped with DATC may exhibit additional intermittent conditions such as an overcompensate cool-down or warm-up, blower motor remains on longer, sun load compensation fluctuates rapidly, blower motor blows hot air through the vents on initial startup, and/or erroneous ambient temperature readings.
ACTION
Reprogram the climate control module DATC or EMTC to the latest calibration using IDS release 69.04 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2010.9 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
NOTE
DURING THE REPROGRAMMING OF THE DATC OR EMTC CLIMATE CONTROL MODULE, THE IDS SCAN TOOL MIGHT IDENTIFY THE MODULE AS HVAC, THIS IS NORMAL SCAN TOOL NAMING OF COMPONENTS AND HVAC TERMINOLOGY INDICATES THE DATC OR EMTC CLIMATE CONTROL MODULE IS BEING REPROGRAMMED.
