Seat Backrest Latch - Rear

Removal
NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.
All vehicles
1. Remove the parcel shelf from the rear of the vehicle to access the rear backrest latch nuts. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim and Ornamentation Service and Repair.
2. NOTE: Make sure the affected backrest is released.
Access the luggage compartment, detach the trim pin-type retainer and position the trim aside.
Non-hybrid vehicles
3. Remove the 2 nuts and detach the latch release handle bracket.
4. Detach the 2 pin-type retainers and latch cable assembly.
- Note the cable routing for installation.
5. Detach the release cable from the latch and remove.
All vehicles
6. Remove the backrest latch.
- Remove the 2 nuts and backrest latch.
Installation
Non-hybrid vehicles
1. Attach the release cable to the latch.
2. Route the release cable, position the release handle and bracket to the 2 studs and install the 2 nuts.
- Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Install the 2 release cable pin-type retainers.
- Position the trim and install the pin-type retainer.
All vehicles
3. Position the latch and install the nuts.
- Adjust the latch. For additional information, refer to Seat Latch Adjustment - Rear Adjustments in the General Procedures.
- Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
4. Install the parcel shelf. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim and Ornamentation Service and Repair.
