Subject
Transmission Shifting Cables Frozen

Complaint

After vehicle is parked overnight in extremely low ambient temperatures, the trans shifter selector is hard to move.

Cause

Transmission selector and/or shift cables frozen due to water intrusion.

Measure

On customer complaint basis only, replace both transmission shift cables. Use the following part numbers: PN 25 11 7 531 707 (selector cable); PN 25 11 7 531 708 (shift cable). With installation of the new improved cables, replacement of the gear selector mechanism is no longer required.

The new cables provide improved sealing.
