Dust Cover, Wheel Hub

Replace Left Or Right Dust Cover

Special Tools Required:
- 34 6 301
- 34 6 306
- 34 6 307
- 34 6 308

Note:
- When work has been completed, actuate brake pedal several times to ensure that brake pads make firm contact with brake disks.
- When installing new brake linings on the rear axle and simultaneously replacing the brake linings on the front axle, check the brake-fluid level and top up to the "MAX" marking if necessary.

Remove road wheels.





Remove retaining spring (1).





Remove plastic plugs (2).





Remove guide screws (2) and release brake caliper. Do not allow brake caliper to hang from brake hose, risk of damage to brake hose.

Install Hint:
Only clean guide screws, do not grease.

Check threads.

Replace all guide screws which are not in perfect condition.
Tightening torque:
- Guide bolt Wrench size 7mm 35 Nm





Remove brake linings

Using special tools 34 6 301 /34 6 306 /34 6 307 / 34 6 308 as shown, press brake piston into caliper.





Install Hint:
Ensure inside brake lining is correctly located in piston groove (1).
(Dust sleeve removed only for purpose of showing a clear graphic).





Remove and discard old dust sleeve.

Fit inner lip of new dust sleeve to piston in position shown (1).





Fit outer lip of new dust sleeve using special tool.
