Trailing Arm: Service and Repair
Removing And Installing Left Or Right Trailing Arm (Without Full Chassis Alignment Check)
Caution: After installation, carry out wheel alignment check.
Remove wheel.
Remove caliper bolts (1) hook caliper up to body to relieve tension on brake hose.
Brake calliper to trailing arm
M10 65 Nm
Remove ABS sensor (2) from trailing arm.
ABS sensor to trailing arm
Allen headed bolt 8 Nm
Remove anti-roll bar link (if fitted).
Rear anti-roll bar to trailing arm
M10 x 1.5 nut 56 Nm
Note: Use once only.
Remove disc.
Brake disc to wheel hub
Torx Screw
M10 x 13 27 Nm
Release (3) bolts holding hub assembly to trailing arm and remove hub and dirt shield.
Bearing unit to trailing arm
M10 x 35 56 Nm
Support trailing arm.
Release bolt holding stabilizer link to trailing arm.
Rear anti-roll bar link to anti-roll bar
M10 x 1.5 nut 56 Nm
Note: Use once only.
Release upper and lower lateral links from trailing arm (1).
Lateral link to trailing arm
M12 x 1.5 64 bolt 100 Nm
Release bolt (1) holding shock absorber to trailing arm.
Rear arm damper to trailing arm
M14 x 1.5 140 Nm
Mark position of compliance bush to body (1) to aid subsequent toe-in adjustment.
Release 3 bolts (2) holding compliance bush housing to body.
Remove trailing arm.

M12 1.5 66 bolt 100 Nm
If changing compliance housing and bush, mark position of compliance housing and bush to trailing arm (1) before removing.
Compliance bush to trailing arm
M14 x 1.5 x 100 bolt 165 Nm

Refer to Adjusting rear axle (with KDS).
