SUBJECT
Outside A-Pillar Trim Torn Off
MODEL
R50 (Cooper) and R53 (Cooper S) produced up to 4/04.
SITUATION
The outside A-pillar trim is torn off by the wind at highway speeds.
CAUSE
Two-part-A-pillar clip does not properly secure trim to the vehicle.
CORRECTION
Secure the A-pillar trim with a modified one-part clip.
PROCEDURE
Install modified one-part clip, P/N 07 14 7 145 753.
