Temperature control

Temperature control IHKA: The required temperature in the passenger compartment is set by means of a rotary switch on the IHKA control panel and shown in the display.

Temperature control IHKR: The required temperature in the passenger compartment is set by means of a rotary switch on the IHKA control panel.

The interior, heat exchanger, evaporator, outside and coolant temperatures are evaluated for the purpose of temperature control together with the driving speed and engine speed signals.

The heating system operates based on the reheat principle. The air is cooled down by the evaporator and then heated up again to the required temperature by the heat exchanger. The rate of temperature increase is determined by the position of the temperature mixer flap. Based on its position, the temperature mixer flap controls the volumetric flow of warm or cold air.

Temperature mixer flap operation:

In the automatic air conditioning system (IHKA), the flap is adjusted by a stepper motor.

In the air conditioning system (IHKR) the flap is adjusted by means of a Bowden cable from the control panel.
