Instrument Cluster Test Functions

1. Calling up the reset function for the instrument cluster of the MINI (Convertible or Coupe as of 07/04)

IMPORTANT: read through once beforehand!!

A. Ignition lock in position "0" (ignition off)
B. Press the trip recorder reset button (hold down)
C. Ignition lock in position "2"(ignition on) "tESt 1' appears in the display.
D. Press the trip recorder reset button again immediately until "tESt 19"
E. Wait a little - "_L_off" and "_L_on" appear alternately on the display
F. With "_L_off", press the trip recorder reset button once
G. Press the trip recorder reset button again immediately until "tESt 21" appears
H. Wait until "21.0" appears in the display
I. Press the trip recorder reset button once -> Reset is started.

2. Test function for instrument cluster
2.1 To start the test functions, the ignition must be off. Then press and hold down the trip recorder reset button in the instrument cluster. Then switch the ignition on. "tESt 1" appears in the display. Pressing the reset button again takes you to the different test numbers.

2.2 In the case of locked tests (tests 3 to 21), with test 19 on appearance of the display "_L_oFF" (alternates between _L_oFF and _L_oN) pressing the reset button opens the lock. Then the display then jumps to test 0 so that the corresponding test number group can be selected immediately by pressing again.

2.3 If a test number contains other subfunctions, after choice of the test number the display "tESt x.0" (x stands for the selected test number) appears automatically in the display. Pressing the reset button again enables selection of another subtest step (function) or one can be started as with "system test".
