Interior lights circuit
The interior lights circuit supplies the ceiling lights, the loading area lights and the footwell lights.
The interior lights can be operated by hand when the alarm system is not armed and the ignition key is not in position 0. Automatic operation is only possible in ignition key position 0 or 1. With automatic operation, the interior lights go on and off slowly.
The interior lights can be manually activated by pressing the button mounted beside the ceiling light. Pressing the button a second time switches the lights OFF.
To switch off the interior lighting permanently, the main interior light switch must be pressed for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, the lights go out after a short flash. In this mode, the interior lights can only be operated manually. The automatic mode can be reactivated by pressing the main interior light switch for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, the lights flash and go on. If the crash sensor is activated while the ignition key is in position 1 or 2, the automatic mode is also activated.
The automatic mode remains activated when the interior light switch is pressed as normal (less than 5s).
When the interior light switch is used to activate the light, the lights remain on for 16 minutes, no matter what the position of the ignition key.
All lights go out gradually after 16 minutes if the key is not pressed again. (Power Down mode).
A table of the states and ignition key positions for the gradual activation and deactivation of the lights appears below:
Reading light circuit
The reading light circuit supplies the reading light, the glovebox light and the vanity mirror light.
With the ignition key in position 0, the reading light circuit is supplied with current when the interior light output is ON and not supplied with current when the interior light output is OFF.
The reading light circuit is supplied with current when the ignition switch is in position 1 or 2.
The reading light circuit is not activated when the alarm is armed.
Ashtray light circuit
The ashtray light circuit is only supplied with current when the exterior light switch is ON.
Battery protection
The interior light circuit is switched off after the ignition key has been in position 0 for 16 minutes. Disconnecting the circuit prevents the battery from discharging.
