Pedal-Position Sensor (R50)

Pedal-Position Sensor (R50)

Function
This sensor is a dual Hall sensor that sends a processed analog signal corresponding to the driver's wish to accelerate to the engine control module. The pedal-position sensor has two outputs. These outputs are used to implement a safety strategy for the function of the electronic accelerator pedal. In cars with CVT transmission, the engine control module detects a kick-down condition by measuring the change in the accelerator pedal setting.

Installation Location
The sensor is located on the accelerator pedal.
