Removing And Installing Or Replacing Front Stabilizer Bar
Special Tools Required:

^ 32 3 090

Refer to replacing control arm:

Remove bumper.

Remove bumper carrier.

Remove road wheels.

Remove crush tube.





Remove PAS reservoir nuts (1) from bulkhead.
PAS reservoir bracket to secondary bulkhead
M8 x 1.25 x 20 19 Nm





Remove nuts and disconnect steering tie rod ends using special tool 32 3 090 (1).
Outer ball joint to knuckle
M10 x 1.25 x 12 Locknut 52 Nm
Note: Use only once.





Disconnect left and right lower stabilizer links to stabilizer bar (1).
Front anti-roll bar link to anti-roll bar
M10 x 1.5 56 Nm
Note: use only once.





Disconnect both lower arm to knuckle ball joints using special tool 32 1 190.
Outer ball joints to lower arm
M12 x 1.5 Nut 56 Nm
Note: Use only once





Disconnect inner ball joint to lower control arm.

Remove nut and release control ball joint with special tool 31 2 240
Inner ball joint to lower arm
M14 x 1.5 Nut 80 Nm
Note: Use only once.

Disconnect steering column from rack.





Remove nut (1) and remove bolt (2).

Release column in direction arrow shows.

Install hint:
Replace self-locking nut.
Lower universal joint clamping nut
M8 Nut 22 Nm
Note: Use only once





Remove bolts (1) securing engine lower stabilizer (2) and remove.
Lower stabilizer to oil sump holder 100 Nm
Lower stabilizer to front axle 100 Nm






Locate gearbox hydraulic jack (1) to subframe jacking point (2)





Remove left and right front subframe center bolts (1) to body.
Front subframe centre to body
M12 x 1,75 x 18 100 Nm
Note: Self forming.





Remove bolts (1) retaining left and right compliance bush housings (2) to body.
Compliance bush housing to body
M10 Screw 59 Nm + 90° ± 15°

Caution: Ensure transmission jack is holding subframe.





Remove left and right bolts (1) holding rear of subframe to body. Slacken left and right bolts (2) and lower subframe.
Front subframe rear to body
M12 x 1.75 x 61.7 100 Nm
Note: Self forming.





Lower subframe just enough to allow removal of bolts (1) retaining compliance bush housing to subframe.
Compliance bush housing to subframe
M14 x 1.5 x 80 165 Nm

Remove lower control arm from car.
