SUBJECT
Noise from Recirculation Motors
MODEL
R50 (Cooper)
R52 (Cooper, Cooper S Convertible)
R53 (Cooper S)
SITUATION
Unpleasant noise can be heard when the recirculation flap is actuated.
CAUSE
Recirculation flap motor
PROCEDURE
Activate and deactivate the recirculation motor by pressing the recirculation switch. If the recirculation motor is causing an abnormal noise, replace the recirculation motor as described in Repair Instruction RA 64 11 805 "Removing and installing/replacing servo drive for fresh-air/recirculated-air flap".
