Operation Of The Automatic Transmission
The automatic transmission is operated with the selector lever and shift paddles on the steering wheel.
Operating elements
The following controls are available:
- Selector lever:
- Each selector lever position is transferred to the gearbox switchgear via Bowden cable from the selector lever position switch
- In selector lever position M (manual mode), the shift commands upshift or downshift are transferred directly to the electronic transmission control unit with operation of the selector lever
- The selector lever position controls the shift-indicator lighting via the selector lever position switch; each drive position is lit up. The engaged gear in the manual mode is displayed in the instrument panel
- The Shift lock solenoid valve activates the selector lever interlock if the brake pedal is not pressed. The drive position can only be engaged when the brake pedal is pressed.
- Shift paddles on the steering wheel:
- In selector lever positions M (manual mode) D (automatic mode), the shift commands upshift or downshift are transferred directly to the electronic transmission control unit with operation of the rocker switches
Gearbox switchgear
The gearbox switchgear is activated via Bowden cable by the selector lever position switch and it transfers the engaged drive position to the electronic transmission control unit.
