Integrated Accessory Switch Assembly: Testing and Inspection
Note On Checking The Centre Console Switch Panel
Centre console switch panel
The centre console switch panel is integrated in the heating and air conditioning system control unit. The assignment of each switch and button depends on the vehicle type and vehicle equipment.
In addition, a centre console control panel is fitted to the R60 Countryman series that is also connected to the heating and air conditioning control unit.
The button signals are received by the heating and air conditioning control unit and either sent via the body controller area network or via separate lines to other vehicle control units.
Checking the switch panel
The Centre console switch panel procedure allows all switches and buttons to be checked that sent signals via the body area controller network to the Junction Box Electronics (JBE) and Footwell Module (FRM) control units. The seat heating function LEDs can also be checked.
Buttons for the fog lights and the rear fog lights are also tested in this procedure if they are installed in the centre console control panel (R60 Countryman).
Individual procedures are available for the following buttons that are not part of the body controller area network:
- Central locking button
- ASC/DSC button
- Button for automatic engine start-stop function
