Troubleshooting


1. Excessive engine vibration:
a. Damaged gear shift control.
2. Oil leakage:
a. Worn seals or gaskets.
b. Transaxle housing improperly aligned.
3. Loose transaxle assembly:
a. Mounting bolts loose.
b. Damaged transaxle mount.
4. Vehicle will not move in any gear:
a. Low transaxle fluid level.
b. Damaged planetary gear carrier.
5. Difficult to shift selector to Park:
a. Worn parking sprag dog.
6. Vehicle does not hold in Park:
a. Malfunctioning parking sprag.
7. Transaxle slips due to excessive wear of sprag:
a. Sprag clutch ribbon spring broken.
8. No drive at any position due to engaged lock-up torque converter:
a. Abnormal signal slippage in torque converter system.
b. Torque converter solenoid valve improperly sealed.
9. Inoperative lock-up torque converter:
a. No signal lock-up from computer processing unit.
b. Low lock-up line pressure.
c. Solenoid valve circuit open or shorted.
10. Excessive fuel consumption:
a. Torque converter will not engage due to a stuck valve.
11. Lock-up torque converter will not release:
a. Decreased driving effort to facing of clutch plate.
b. Burned out clutch disc.
c. Torque converter solenoid valve stuck open.
12. Excessive vibration due to no control of slipping ratio:
a. Throttle opening sensor shaft sticking.
13. No drive in any position:
a. Torque converter thrust bearing seized or stuck.
b. Torque converter crankshaft bushing deformed.
c. Damaged drive plate.
d. Low transaxle fluid level.
14. Excessive noise due to inoperative lock-up torque converter:
a. Torque converter locking ring worn or damaged.
15. Transaxle slips when starting:
a. Low transaxle fluid level.
b. Torque converter overrunning clutch worn.
16. Transaxle hunts between gears:
a. Oil leakage from valve body.
17. Excessive differential gear noise:
a. Worn differential bearing.
b. Worn or damaged differential gear.
