Removal and Replacement

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Support rear axle using suitable jack stands.

4. Remove rear axle assembly in numbered sequence as shown, Fig. 1, noting the following:
a. Make alignment marks on flange yoke of rear propeller shaft and flange of differential.
b. After supporting axle assembly by floor jack, remove lower arm assembly.
c.Remove rear axle assembly toward the rear of the vehicle. Use care not to allow axle to fall.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install lateral rod bolt from the axle housing side.

b. Install lower arm washers as shown Fig. 2.
c. After installing stabilizer bar bracket, ensure amount of projection of stabilizer bar bolt is 0.59-0.67 inch.
d. Align propeller shaft mating marks made during disassembly.
