Emissions Maintenance Light: Description and Operation
PURPOSEThis warning light illuminates when the ignition switch is placed in the ON position, and switches off after the engine has started. The light illuminates after every 50,000 miles, 8O,OOO miles and 100,000 miles travelled. The manufacturer recommends that the bulb be removed at the 100,000 mile interval. The light serves to remind the customer that the emission systems should be inspected for proper operation.
