Driveshaft

1. Using a suitable pipe with an outside diameter of 2.71 inches and metal thickness of 0.09 inch, press dust cover onto Birfield Joint (BJ) side.
2. Using a suitable pipe with an outside diameter of 2.24 inches and metal thickness of 0.24 inch, press dust cover onto Double Offset Joint (DOJ) side.
3. Wrap vinyl tape around driveshaft splines to prevent damage to boots.
4. Using grease supplied with repair kit, lubricate driveshaft.
5. Install BJ boot, new boot bands, DOJ boot on driveshaft, then BJ in that order. BJ and DOJ boots are of different size and shape and must be installed correctly.
6. Install DOJ cage, small diameter side first, onto driveshaft, then install circlip on driveshaft.
7. Install DOJ inner race onto driveshaft and secure with snap ring.
8. Using grease supplied with repair kit, lubricate DOJ inner race and DOJ cage, then fit balls into cage.
9. Using grease supplied with repair kit, apply 1.8-2.8 ounces to DOJ outer race, then install on driveshaft.
10. Apply an additional 1.8-2.5 ounces of grease to DOJ outer race and install circlip.
11. Using grease supplied with repair kit, lubricate BJ side, then install BJ boot.
12. Ensure distance of 3.1 inches exists between boot bands, then tighten bands securely.
