Intake and Exhaust Manifolds

REPLACEMENT
Refer to the illustration for the removal procedure.
Reverse the removal procedure to install, noting the following:





1. When applying sealant to the water outlet fitting be sure to install the housing quickly while the sealant is wet (within 15 minutes).

NOTE: After installation, keep the sealed area away from the oil and coolant for approximately one hour.

2. Apply a 3 mm (0.1 inch) wide bead of Mitsubishi Genuine Part No. MD990389, or equivalent sealant, to the entire inside diameter of the water outlet fitting.





3. Apply 3M sealant Nut Locking Part number 4171, or equivalent sealant, to the engine coolant temperature sensor.
