Inspection Procedure 11

DIAGNOSIS

STEP 1. Check pinion shaft for damage.
If damaged, replace the part. Then go to Step 4.
If normal, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the oil level.





Check that gear oil level is not 8 mm (0.3 inch) below the bottom of filler plug hole.
If low, refill Hypoid gear oil MITSUBISHI Genuine Gear Oil Part Number 8149630 EX or equivalent. Then go to Step 4.
If normal, go to step 3.

STEP 3. Check that Hypoid gear oil MITSUBISHI Genuine Gear Oil Part Number 8149630 EX or equivalent is being used.
If not, replace the oil. Then go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check symptoms.
Check that no noise is generated.
