Ambient Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Testing and Inspection

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CHECK
Check the internal resistance of the ambient temperature sensor are at the standard values at temperature of 20°C (68°F) and 40°C (104°F).

Standard value:
Approximately 1,200 ohms [at 20°C (68°F)]
Approximately 500 ohms [at 40°C (104°F)]




AMBIENT TEMPERATURE CHECK

WARNING: The temperature conditions when checking should not exceed the range shown in the diagram.

When the resistance between the sensor terminals is measured under two or more temperature conditions the resistance should approximately satisfy the illustrated values.
