Inspection Procedure 15

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 15: GPS cannot be received.

CAUTION: Before replacing the navigation unit, ensure that the power supply circuit and the ground circuit are normal. (Check that the voltage is 10 V or more.)

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
- The GPS antenna may be defective.
- The navigation unit may be defective

DIAGNOSIS

STEP 1. Check that the vehicle is situated in a location with a good visibility.

Q: Is the vehicle situated in a location with good visibility?

YES : Go to Step 2.

NO : Move the vehicle to a location with good visibility. Check that the GPS can be received.

STEP 2. GPS reception check

1. Turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" position.
2. When 15 minutes has elapsed, check that the GPS can be received.

Q: Is GPS received?

YES : Go to Step 3

NO : The procedure is complete.

STEP 3. Using the navi service mode function, check that the GPS is OK.

1. Display the Circuit check.
2. Check that "OK" is shown in the field of GPS.

Q: Is check result normally?

YES : Go to Step 5.

NO : Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check the GPS antenna cable.

Q: Is the GPS antenna cable normal?

YES : Go to Step 5.

NO : Replace the GPS antenna.

STEP 5. Temporarily replace the GPS antenna, and check that the GPS can be received.

Q: When the GPS antenna is temporarily replaced, can GPS be received?

YES : Replace the GPS antenna.

NO : Replace the navigation unit.
