Inspection Procedure 19
INSPECTION PROCEDURE 19: Only the front left speaker does not sound (including the audio sound).CAUTION: Before replacing the audio amplifier or multi-center display, ensure that the power supply circuit and the ground circuit are normal. (Check that the voltage is 10 V or more.)

Part 2:
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
- The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector
- The front door speaker (LH) may be defective
- The multi-center display may be defective
- The audio amplifier may be defective
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check the front door speaker (LH).
1. Remove the front door speaker (LH).
2. Check that the front door speaker (LH) generates noise when a five-volt voltage is applied on the front door speaker (LH) terminal.
Q: Is the front door speaker (LH) generating noise?
YES : Go to Step 2.
NO : Replace the front door speaker (LH). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.
STEP 2. Check front door speaker (LH) connector E-16 and multi-center display connector C-130 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.
Q: Are front door speaker (LH) connector E-16 and multi-center display connector C-130 in good condition?
YES : Go to Step 3.
NO : Repair or replace the component(s). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.
STEP 3. Check the wiring harness between front door speaker (LH) connector E-16 (terminals 1 and 2) and multi-center display connector C-130 (terminals 45 and 42).
- Check the wiring harness for open circuit and short circuit.
NOTE: Also check intermediate connector C-29 for loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector. If intermediate connector C-29 is damaged, repair or replace the connector.
Q: Is the wiring harness between front door speaker (LH) connector E-16 (terminals 1 and 2) and multi-center display connector C-130 (terminals 45 and 42) in good condition?
YES : Go to Step 4.
NO : Repair the wiring harness. The front door speaker (LH) should sound.
STEP 4. Check audio amplifier connector C-11 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.
Q: Is harness connectors C-11 in good condition?
YES : Go to Step 5.
NO : Repair or replace the component(s). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.
STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between multi-center display connector C-130 (terminals 44 and 43) and audio amplifier connector C-11 (terminals 8 and 18).
- Check the wiring harness for open circuit and short circuit.
Q: Is the wiring harness between multi-center display connector C-130 (terminals 44 and 43) and audio amplifier connector C-11 (terminals 8 and 18) in good condition?
YES : Go to Step 6.
NO : Repair the wiring harness. The front door speaker (LH) should sound.
STEP 6. Temporarily replace the multi-center display, and check that the sound is output from the front left speaker.
Q: When the multi-center display is temporarily replaced, is the sound output from the front left speaker?
YES : Replace the multi-center display. The front door speaker (LH) should sound.
NO : Replace the audio amplifier. The front door speaker (LH) should sound.
