Windshield Wiper Motor and Link Assembly Check

WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY CHECK







CAUTION: When clamping the windshield wiper motor and link assembly in a vise, be sure that the link is free to move.

1. Clamp the windshield wiper motor and link assembly in a vise as shown.







2. Connect the windshield wiper motor connector terminal number 5 to ground.







3. Check to see that the windshield wiper motor runs at high speed when connecting the positive battery terminal to windshield wiper motor connector terminal number 2.







4. Check to see that the windshield wiper motor runs at low speed when connecting the positive battery terminal to windshield wiper motor connector terminal number 1.







5. Disconnect the positive battery terminal to windshield wiper motor connector terminal number 1 with the windshield wiper motor running at low speed.
6. Check to see that the motor stops.







7. Connect windshield wiper motor connector terminal 1 to terminal 4.







8. Connect positive battery terminal to windshield wiper motor connector terminal number 3.
9. Check to see that the windshield wiper motor runs at low speed and then always stops at the same position.
