Headlamp: Description and Operation
GENERAL INFORMATION
- There are two types of headlight assembly. One is with low-beam halogen bulb, and the other is with discharge bulb.
- The headlight assembly incorporates the low-beam headlight, the high-beam headlight, the front turn-signal light, and position light.
- On the headlight assembly with low-beam halogen bulb, the low beam bulb is also used as daytime running light when dimmed.[ Vehicles for Canada]
- A manual headlight leveling system is used for the headlight assembly with discharge bulb. By adjusting the headlight beam direction vertically via the five-position headlight leveling switch (stage 0 to 4) in accordance with the number of passengers or change on cargo load, this system prevents glare to oncoming drivers.
NOTE:
As the position value of headlight leveling switch increases, the direction of the headlight becomes lower.
