Distributor - Timing Specifications

85mitsubishi01

SUBJECT:

DISTRIBUTOR TIMING SPECIFICATIONS
NO. STB-85-08-009

DATE July, 1985

MODEL All 1985 Models
STB Revision STB-85-08-009

SPECIFICATIONS CHANGED

Distributor timing specifications, formerly given in "Distributor degrees" and "Distributor rpm" have been converted to "Crankshaft degrees" and "Engine rpm". This change has been made because distributor test equipment commonly used by MMSA dealers measures crank angles and engine speed.

In addition, advance data tor the 1985 Truck and Montero have been changed, and vacuum advance data for Galant and Cordia/Tredia have also been revised.

As reference to this bulletin, please write the STB number in the revision boxes on Page 8-2 of each 1985 Service Manual.

SPECIFICATIONS

Table I on the next page gives the current distributor advance data for all engines. Please note that in this table vacuum values (below atmospheric pressure) are given in inches of mercury (Hg), and boost pressure values (above atmospheric pressure) are given in pounds per square inch (PSI).

Pages 3-5 show the changes graphically.
