Inspection of Cold Mixture Heater Relay Control System

Mirage Models
1. Disconnect cold mixture heater connector.
2. Using a suitable ohmmeter, check continuity between connector and ground.
3. Ohmmeter should indicate .5 ohms of resistance at 68°F.
4. Reconnect heater connector.
5. Connect a suitable voltmeter to cold mixture heater connector, then check voltmeter indication.
6. Voltmeter should indicate 0 volts with engine stopped with coolant temperature at 140°F or lower. With engine at idle and coolant temperature at 140°F or lower, voltmeter should indicate approximately 12 volts. With engine at idle and coolant temperature above 176°F, voltmeter should indicate 0 volts.
