Disassembly
Refer to Fig. 13 distributor disassembled view and proceed as follows:
1. Remove distributor from engine as described under Distributor, Replace.
2. Remove distributor cap, then pull rotor off rotor shaft.
3. Remove cover and gasket, then the two vacuum controller attaching screws.
4. Remove breaker base pin snap ring, then the vacuum control.
5. Remove signal rotor shaft attaching screw, then the two breaker plate attaching screws.
6. Remove signal rotor shaft and breaker plate assembly.
7. Tap signal rotor shaft using a soft face hammer to remove it from signal rotor.
8. Remove signal generator attaching screws, then the pickup coil.
9. Remove two governor spring retainers using suitable pliers, then the two governor springs and two governor weights.
10. Place alignment marks on distributor shaft to show drive gear position.
11. Place drive gear on wooden block, then remove drive gear roll pin using a suitable punch.
12. Remove drive gear and washer, then distributor shaft from housing.

Assembly
1. Thoroughly clean and inspect all distributor components.
2. Install shaft through housing.
3. Align marks made during disassembly and install drive gear onto distributor shaft, then tap in new roll pin using a suitable punch.
4. Install governor weight to governor plate, then the governor spring and spring retainer.
5. Install signal rotor shaft to distributor shaft, then the pickup coil to breaker plate.
6. Attach breaker plate to housing. Ensure breaker plate projection fits into groove.
7. Tighten signal rotor shaft and two breaker plate attaching screws.
8. Install signal rotor to rotor shaft. Check to ensure that signal rotor and stator of signal generator do not contact each other.
9. Attach vacuum control link to breaker plate, then the snap ring.
10. Tighten two vacuum control attaching screws, then install gasket and cover.
11. Attach rotor to rotor shaft, then the distributor cap to housing.
