Scan Tool Testing and Procedures

MULTI-USE TESTER INSPECTION PROCEDURE
(1) Turn off the ignition switch.
(2) Connect the multi-use tester to the diagnosis connector in the glove compartment.
(3) Using the multi-use tester, check the various inspection points. If an irregularity is found, repair the affected area.

NOTE: If the trouble indication light comes on during inspection, check the trouble code.

(4) After repairing, recheck the repaired area to confirm that the defect has been corrected.
(5) Turn oft the ignition switch.
(6) Remove the multi-use tester.
(7) Make certain that the power supply has been removed from ECU for at least 15 seconds. This will erase the memory.
(8) After completion of the above test, perform a road test to be sure that the trouble has been eliminated.
