Fig. 2 Engine Assembly (Part 2 Of 2):
1. Relieve fuel system pressure as follows:
a. With engine running, disconnect fuel pump connector.
b. Allow engine to deplete fuel supply, then turn ignition Off. Failure to relieve fuel system pressure prior to disconnecting fuel system components may cause fire or personal injury.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Scribe reference marks between hood and hood hinges, then remove hood.
4. Drain cooling system as follows:
a. Place temperature control lever in Hot position.
b. Carefully remove radiator cap.
c. Remove radiator drain plug.
5. Remove transaxle assembly. On models with automatic transaxle, refer to procedure outlined under TRANSMISSIONS CLUTCHES DIFFERENTIALS AXLES AND DRIVE SHAFTS/AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES/TRANSAXLE. On models with manual transaxle, refer to procedure outlined under TRANSMISSIONS CLUTCHES DIFFERENTIALS AXLES AND DRIVE SHAFTS/MANUAL TRANSAXLE/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES/TRANSAXLE.
6. Remove radiator components in order as they appear, Fig. 1, noting the following:
a. Prior to removing radiator hoses, mark hose clamps in relation to hoses for installation reference.
b. After disconnecting transaxle cooler lines on models with automatic transaxle, plug or cover ends of lines to prevent entry of dirt or foreign material.
7. Remove engine components in order as they appear, referring to Fig. 2, noting the following:
a. Remove power steering pump from bracket with hoses attached, then secure pump aside with a piece of wire.
b. Remove A/C compressor from bracket with hoses attached, then compressor pump aside with a piece of wire.
c. Using a suitable engine hoist, slightly raise engine, then remove engine mount bracket.
d. Ensure all cables, connectors and hoses are disconnected, then remove engine from engine compartment.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
