Replace rear axle hub in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 19. Use care not to damage or strike the ABS speed sensor or rotor.
Models w/Drum Brakes
Replace rear axle hub in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 20.

AWD MODELS

Fig. 21 Replacing Rear Axle Hub (AWD Models):

1. Disconnect parking brake cable.
2. Remove rear axle hub in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 21, noting the following:
a. Use caution when removing the ABS speed sensor and rotor to prevent damage or from striking them against other components.
b. Using end joke holder tool No. MB990767-01 or equivalent, remove axle hub locknut.
c. Using a suitable puller, remove axle shaft from trailing arm.
d. Remove ABS rotor and bearing from hub, using a suitable press and puller.
3. Reverse procedure to install.
