1. Disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. On 1990 Sigma models, tape and isolate battery ground cable terminal. Wait at least 30 seconds before proceeding.
4. On 1990-92 models, remove knee protector, if applicable.
5. On all models, remove column shrouds, then the switch electrical connectors.
6. Remove switch attaching screws, then remove lock cylinder from switch as follows:
a. Insert key in lock cylinder and turn to ACC position.
b. Using a small screwdriver, push lock cylinder lockpin in, Fig. 6, then remove lock cylinder.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. On 1990 Sigma models, ensure no one is inside of vehicle, then rearm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
