1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove torsion axle and arm assembly in numbered sequence shown in Figs. 12 and 13, noting the following:
a. Raise up torsion axle and arm assembly. Insert a wooden block between the jack and axle beam, do not allow jack to contact lateral rod.
b. Remove shock absorber mounting bolts and trailing arm mounting bolts.
c. Lower jack slowly, then remove torsion axle and arm assembly.
3. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install lateral rod mounting bolt from direction shown, Fig. 14.
b. Adjust wheel bearing nut as outlined under STEERING SUSPENSION CHASSIS AND BODY COMPONENTS/REAR SUSPENSION/ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES/WHEEL BEARING.
