SPECIFICATION REVISED

The tightening torque specification for the Coolant Temperature Gauge Sending Unit is increased to 7-9 ft.lbs. The former specification was 6-7 ft.lbs. Torque specifications for the Coolant Temperature Sensor and the Thermo Switch are not affected by this bulletin. The specified sealant is now 3M No. 8660 or equivalent.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Before installing the Coolant Temperature Gauge Sending Unit in the intake manifold, apply 3M No. 8660 or equivalent sealant to the threads. Then torque the sending unit to 7-9 ft.lbs., rather than the 6-7 ft.lbs. given in the Service Manual. These steps will insure a good, leak-free installation.
