Compressor Clutch Relay: Testing and Inspection

Air Conditioning Relay Location:

To test the Air Conditioning Relay, located below the dashboard on the right hand side of the heater box, proceed as follows.

1. Remove the Air Conditioning Relay.
2. Test terminals L and B for continuity, there should be no continuity.
3. Apply 12v power across terminals S1 and S2.
4. Test terminals L and B for continuity, there should be continuity.
5. If the relay fails either test replace the relay.

NOTE: In referencing the wiring schematic in ELECTRONIC AND ELECTRICAL DIAGRAMS, the terminals 2 and 4 reference terminals L and B as marked on the relay. likewise terminals 1 and 3 reference S1 and S2 as marked on the relay.
