Feedback Carburetor (FBC) Checker Controls:

To test the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) the FBC checker is recommended, although the tests on the Feedback Carburetor (FBC) System Check Procedures Chart, can be performed with the use of a suitable multi-meter. To test pins do not remove the connector from the ECU, instead insert a straight pin or needle from the back side of the connector.

CAUTION: Before battery terminals are disconnected, make sure that the ignition switch is "off". If battery terminals are disconnected while the engine is running or when the ignition switch is in the "on" position, malfunction of the computer could result.

1. Turn the ignition switch "off".
2. Remove the harness connector "A" (13 poles) and harness connector "B" (7 poles) from the ECU (computer).
3. Set the check switch of the FBC checker to "off".
4. Set the select switch of the FBC checker to A.
5. Connect the FBC harness connectors to the connectors of the FBC checker, and then connect the FBC harness to the ECU and harness connectors. Place the FBC checker on the front passenger seat of the vehicle.
