Affected Vehicles

This procedure applies only to 1989 Federal Emission Certified Precis vehicles equipped with manual or automatic transaxles registered in 21 High Altitude states (these states are typically west of the Mississippi River). It does not apply to any other models or to vehicles within California.

The 21 High Altitude states are Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana. Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.
