Ignition Timing Control (Power Transistor) System
Igniter Inputs And Outputs:
The Ignition Timing Control System operates by using the ECU and igniter (located under the hood next to the ignition coil on the left inner fender) to control the ignition timing. The system uses all of the engine condition and vehicle operating condition sensors to compute the correct spark advance or retard (during engine cranking, the ignition timing is fixed at 5°BTDC). The ECU uses the igniter to control the ignition spark.
