Acceleration/Deceleration Sensor: Service and Repair

On models equipped with airbag, disarm airbag as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
1. Disconnect G-Sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove two G-Sensor attaching screws, then the G-Sensor. Do not subject G-Sensor to any impact or violent shacking.
3. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Position the vehicle, unloaded, on a level surface.
b. Using a suitable level, ensure G-Sensor is within 1° of level both lateral and longitudinal directions.
c. Adjust if necessary by installing a suitable shim to bring within 1° of level.
