ECM - MIL ON/DTC's Set After Cold Start

SUBJECT:
"CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT COMING ON
PURPOSE
Some affected vehicles may experience the "CHECK ENGINE" light coming on during warm-up after cold engine start. If trouble code P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 or P0304 is read by the scan tool in the freeze-frame data screen, there may be an incorrect OBD-II detection setting in the Electrical Control Module (ECM). A recalibrated ECM is now available to eliminate this condition.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
1995 1.5L Mirage models with California certified emissions specifications produced before 6/95.
PROCEDURE
If the "CHECK ENGINE" light is illuminated on the instrument panel during warm-up after cold engine start:
1. Check for trouble codes with the MUT-II diagnostic scan tool, using the freeze-frame data screen.
2. If trouble code P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 or P0304 are read by the scan tool, replace the ECM using the new parts listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin.
