Fuel Filter: Service and Repair
NOTE: Perform Fuel System Pressure Release before proceeding.Fuel Filter And Components:
FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT
1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2. Remove the eye bolts while holding the fuel filter nuts securely.
CAUTION: Cover with a shop towel to avoid gasoline from splashing.
3. Remove the fuel filter mounting clamp bolt, then remove the fuel filter from the clamp.
NOTE: Be careful not to lose the flat washers. These washers function as gaskets and must be present on re-assembly to prevent leaks.
4. Torque the fuel filter to the fuel filter line.
Torque value: 30 Nm (22 ft.lbs.)
5. Torque the fuel filter to the high pressure hose.
Torque value: 30 Nm (22 ft.lbs.)
6. After replacing the fuel filter, check for fuel leaks with the system pressurized (ignition key ON).
