Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE/OPERATION
The vehicle speed sensor is supplied with 5 Volts from the powertrain control module. The speed sensor turns on and off (opening and closing the circuit) in proportion to how fast it is turning. The powertrain control module interprets this signal as the vehicle speed.
